Dylan's Story
My career in the music industry led to a high octane lifestyle of celebrity parties, friendships with top artists, and success beyond my dreams. Everything that I thought I had wanted and needed. But, no matter how much I achieved, I always wanted more. The constant pursuit of success, more accolades, the proverbial higher-high. It finally broke me and left me addicted and holding on by a thread.
When I learned about psychedelic therapy to work through destructive tendencies, I was fortunate to be referred to the Avante Institute in the Bahamas. They helped guide me through the most amazing, eye-opening journey that started with my ibogaine treatment and followed months later by a series of psilocybin treatments.

I believe my treatment at Avante was successful because I didn’t expect ibogaine to be a magic cure but an opportunity to recenter myself. If you go in thinking all you have to do is take the medicine and are not prepared to work on yourself, you’re setting yourself up for failure.
I had a great support system when I got home, which also helped so much. I can’t say that I never think about using again, but ibogaine and my support system help me through it.
Avante’s staff was very professional. I truly felt that they cared for my well-being. I never felt unsafe or uncared for. There is only so much they can do—the rest is up to you—but I truly felt they were invested in my recovery. They also support you long after you leave the institute.

I had ankle surgery in 2013 and was prescribed pharmaceutical opiates. I thought they were heaven in a little blue pill. A few months later I was addicted, and they became a living hell in a pill. I was pretty much cut off by my doctor and started injecting heroin to keep from getting sick. For almost two years I detoxed every way possible, but could not stay clean for more than a week. It was not until I discovered ibogaine and the Avante Institute that I don’t need or want an opiate ever again!

I had ibogaine treatment in Mexico in 2016 and I drank at the airport on the way home. After two more failed attempts at rehab my husband found you guys in Bahamas and I decided to try ibogaine again. When I got to your center it felt like it was going to be a different experience and it was. I was detoxed properly, Ava you are an ANGEL and are so knowledgeable.
I felt so safe this time. Nico, thank you for tolerating me, I know I was very negative at first. I’m sorry I don’t remember the doctors name but he was so comforting and calm. NICO V AVANTE
After struggling with drug and alcohol abuse for over 20 years while intermittently attending hundreds of AA/NA meetings and over a dozen residential treatment and intensive outpatient programs, Nico V. Avante found his way to ibogaine through a knowledgeable friend.
“After my single ibogaine treatment in 2008 the 20-year battle was over, ” recalls Nico.
I woke the following morning completely engulfed in surrender and acceptance. The war that had continually reeled in my head and heart for decades over the immense shame and guilt that I had felt was just gone and replaced with a deep desire of love and appreciation for everyone and everything meaningful in my life that deserved my awareness and reciprocation.
