Candidate Qualification

Do You Need Ibogaine treatment? Review this page to learn what criteria qualifies and disqualifies candidates for ibogaine treatment.

In consideration of the health and safety of patients, The Avante Institute has set policies of minimum clinical health standards for all candidates. We reserve the right to determine the acceptable qualifications of each candidate for Ibogaine Treatment.

Qualification Criteria Of Ibogaine Treatment:

  • The candidate is seeking therapy completely voluntarily and is not coerced, threatened or forced.

  • The candidate has signed an Informed Consent indicating their understanding of the benefits and risks of treatment.

  • The candidate agrees to undergo a general medical evaluation with a local GP.

  • The candidate will supply a true and correct copy of their medical history questionnaire.

  • The candidate agrees to respond to a Beck Depression Inventory questionnaire.

  • The candidate will undergo an EKG (electrocardiogram) and report through a local GP.

  • The candidate will undergo a complete blood testing panel (CBC), Comprehenisve Metabolic Panel (CMP) and associated lab work through a local GP.

Candidate Qualification

During pre-screening, any candidate that is determined to have any history of cardiac issue(s) including family history, will be further required to undergo an echocardiogram (ECG) prior to clearance for treatment. This includes cardiac health deficits that would not show up on a normal EKG or EKG stress test.

Disqualification Criteria Of Ibogaine Treatment

In an abundance of caution, The Avante Institute does not currently offer treatment to any client indicating a history of:

  • Active neurological or psychiatric disorders, such as cerebellar dysfunction, psychosis, severe/suicidal depression, organic brain disease or dementia requiring concomitant medications that may cause adverse Ibogaine or other drug interactions (e.g., anti-epileptic drugs, antidepressants, neuroleptics).

  • Sensitivity or adverse reactions to the treatment medication.

  • Significant heart disease or a history of myocardial infarction.

  • Hypertension uncontrolled by conventional medical therapy.

  • Clinically significant laboratory values outside of limits specified by normal lab parameters.

  • Any disease of the gastrointestinal system, liver or kidneys, or abnormal condition which compromises a function of these systems such as a history of major gastrointestinal tract surgery (e.g., gastrectomy, gastrostomy, bowel resections., etc.). history or diagnosis of an active peptic ulcer or chronic disease of the gastrointestinal tract, (e.g. ulcerative colitis, regional enteritis, Crohn’s disease or gastrointestinal bleeding, etc.).

  • Indication of impaired liver function.

  • Indication of impaired renal function.

  • Patients with active HIV, Hepatitis or Tuberculosis

  • Patients who are currently pregnant
