Ibogaine Costa Rica

In 2013, the Avante team began research and development for the Avante Ibogaine Institute. They researched several Caribbean countries, including the eastern Caribbean, Central America, and Mexico, before deciding on Nassau, Bahamas as the home for the clinic. Despite this decision, the potential for Ibogaine Costa Rica as a location was highly considered and remains a strong contender for future expansion.

“Several factors influenced the decision to select the Bahamas for the clinic,” said Nic V. Program Director of The Avante Institute. “The medical infrastructure of the Bahamas is robust and the Bahamas proximity to the United States eastern seaboard provides ease of travel from both the U.S. and Canada. In addition, the beauty and tranquility of the Bahamas islands is just unmatched. Its turquoise waters, white sugar sand beaches, clean air, and topical vegetation was just simply intoxicating.

But as a close second option and coming down to the very final decision on location was Costa Rica. Ibogaine treatment in Costa Rica is viable, but only in the coastal villages. The charm of the Costa Rican people is captivating. The Latin influences, rocky cliffs, waterfalls, and exceptional surfing brings an enthusiasm for life that is wonderful. It really came down to the last round of consideration, but we all knew the Bahamas was home for the Avante clinic. We all agreed that if or when the time comes to add a second clinic to the Avante Ibogaine Institute, Costa Rica will be the location.

As Avante celebrates 10 years of operations, the time for the second clinic may finally be nearing. “We are in a preliminary R&D phase, added Dr. Srinivasa Bodha. I was in San Jose last month to meet with a group of physicians. We are considering a collaboration to educate and train a team down there. It may result in Avante opening a second clinic in the year ahead.”

Although the Avante Ibogaine Institute is not presently operating in Costa Rica, some providers are. “Ibogaine treatment in Costa Rica is available, but we have no valid information on any clinical providers in Central America. A lot goes into identifying an ideal location, and that is the real challenge for Costa Rica. The medical infrastructure is really isolated to the city of San Jose, other than sub-station insta-clinics in the beach towns. So that is a primary consideration. The therapeutic benefits of the environment, the beaches, mountains, waterfalls and vegetation cannot be understated.

But you really don’t want to attend treatment in a city atmosphere if it can be avoided, said Nic. Having medical infrastructure in proximity overrules all else. That is the challenge with Costa Rica and Mexico. Many travel to Cancun expecting a peaceful, tranquil region without realizing that the Cancun of today is not the Cancun of the 80’s and 90’s. Cancun 2020’s is a big, bustling, and dare I say it, somewhat dirty city. Particularly near the outskirts of the tourist areas. It doesn’t have the native beauty and pure clean energy of the Bahamas islands.

The Bahamas is special and it’s a key ingredient on what makes The Avante Ibogaine Institute stand out from all other clinics in Mexico and other locations. Nothing beats sunrise yoga on the beach with no high rises, honking horns and blaring music. All you hear in the Bahamas are the birds flapping their wings, the ocean waves crashing, and the sweet smell of pure, unpolluted oceanic air. This is what makes Avante Ibogaine Bahamas an ideal location for Ibogaine Costa Rica treatments.
