Thirteen Years of Clinical Leadership
The Avante Ibogaine Institute in Nassau, Bahamas has entered its 13th consecutive year of operation.
The institute provides expert-level clinical ibogaine treatment and psychedelic-assisted therapies.
Since opening in 2013, Avante has focused on safety, clinical excellence, and individualized care.
That commitment has positioned Avante among the longest-operating ibogaine treatment centers in the Western Hemisphere.
A Fully Renovated Resort-Quality Campus
Since its founding, Avante’s therapeutic team has grown to 16 experienced professionals.
The institute has also just completed a full renovation of its resort-quality treatment center in Nassau.
The one-acre tropical campus features swaying palms and native Bahamian gardens.
Amenities include a resort-style pool, hammocks, therapeutic fountains, and expansive garden spaces.
Each guest room offers a private en-suite bathroom and refined furnishings.
Infrastructure Built for Safety and Continuity
The renovation exceeded $500,000 and prioritized safety and operational reliability.
Upgrades include hurricane-impact windows and doors throughout the facility.
The campus now operates with a 50kW CAT in-line generator system.
A state-of-the-art fiber-optic high-speed internet system supports clinical operations and communications.
Global Trust and Clinical Experience
Over 2,000 patients have received treatment at Avante during its 13 years of operation.
Families from around the world continue to trust Avante’s clinical track record.
Clients regularly travel from the United States, Canada, Europe, Australia, and South America.
In January 2026 alone, Avante welcomed clients from Germany, Australia, Portugal, and Canada.
“It is always a pleasure to meet our clients who travel across multiple time zones,” said Senior Program Coordinator Nico.
“They come to Avante because of our long track record of proven safety and high-efficacy treatment outcomes.”
The Founding Vision
Avante’s long-term success stems from its mission to address PTSD, addiction, and alcoholism.
That mission originates from the lived experience of its founders.
In 2009, Nico underwent ibogaine treatment after a four-year opioid addiction.
Multiple conventional treatment attempts had failed to produce lasting results.
Following a physician’s recommendation, Nico pursued ibogaine treatment at age 42.
The experience became one of the most profound and beneficial moments of his life.
Rather than returning to real estate development, Nico committed to helping others.
He began planning what would become the Avante Ibogaine Institute.
Establishment and Early Operations
Three years later, Avante became a reality with support from two venture capital contributors.
An oversight committee formed soon after.
Dr. Srinivasa Bodha joined as Medical Director.
Ava Chaise, a 20-year ICU nurse, became Clinical Director.
Avante secured its original Nassau facility and opened its doors on November 6, 2013.
Resilience Through Disruption
Avante operated at its original location for seven years.
The COVID pandemic then halted operations when The Bahamas closed its borders.
After international travel resumed, the team discovered the property had been sold.
The new owners had other plans for the property, so Avante launched an extensive search for a new facility.
That search led to the acquisition of its current eastern Nassau campus.
“In hindsight, this move was a blessing,” said Clinical Director Ava Chaise.
“Our current facility offers greater comfort, privacy, and security.”
A Comprehensive 2025 Renovation
In 2025, Avante committed to a full renovation of the new facility.
A temporary location allowed uninterrupted operations during construction.
The 10-month project included complete guest room reconstruction.
All rooms now feature private en-suite bathrooms, marble finishes, and custom woodwork.
Additional upgrades included a new roof, appliances, countertops, and exterior improvements.
Each guest room received Sealy Posturepedic mattresses and individual climate control systems.
“We designed every detail with maximizing our client’s comfort in mind,” said Medical Director Dr. Srinivasa Bodha.
Looking Ahead
As Avante enters its 13th year, leadership anticipates one of its busiest periods yet.
Momentum continues to build around ibogaine research and clinical trials.
“This work is both important and humbling,” the team shared.
“We will continue as long as we are called to serve in this space.”
Avante remains committed to helping those who can access this life-changing therapy.
Until broader legalization occurs, the mission continues—one patient at a time.
